My friend, Rachel, just submitted her contest entry for our writing contest. She wrote about her treasure, which is her puppy. She just got a new puppy, and she wanted to write about how she has learned about responsibility by caring for her dog. I already turned mine in too, and I hope that I hear back soon. Have you turned in your contest entry yet? Hurry, I heard that it ends soon!

Treasure's Hunt
Have any of you met Treasure, the seahorse? I just met him and he introduced me to his new game called Treasure’s Hunt. I just finished playing it with Treasure and it was so much fun! I cannot wait to play it again. Have you played it yet? All you have to do is help Treasure collect fish, shells, and horseshoes in the water. I also just discovered a secret to winning; if you collect bubbles, you will move faster.
My challenge to you: can you beat my high score? Post your high score as a comment so I can see how you do!

I Just Read Another Book
My next book review is of “Nike’s Great Race”. I loved where it takes place. It’s in the Overgaard Skylands which are a bunch of floating islands above Trails End! Nike helps a girl named Marta to realize her dream of flying. I loved the idea of living on a flying island. Maybe I can visit one someday. Another thing in the book that was interesting is the floating cows called “Bovos” that made flavored milk! Marta’s family has a whole herd of them! The flying horse race was my favorite part of the book though. “Fiery Fiona” is the next book I’m going to read. I can’t wait to tell you all about it!

Writing Contest
Hi friends! I just came home from school and I am so excited. My teacher said that we are having a writing contest. Since we have been learning about the magical horses’ treasures, we get to write about our favorite treasures. We also get to draw pictures of them! The winner gets to bring their favorite candy to school to share with everyone.
I really hope that I win! I am writing about my journal and Sparkle Skywriter quill. They are my treasures because I write down everything that goes on and how I feel about it. Sometimes I share my writing with my friends and other times I keep it to myself. My journal and quill help me tell wonderful stories about the magical horses in North of North and my everyday life.
I heard that there are other contests going on too. Have you heard anything?

Jewel’s Magic
Have you read “Jewel’s Magic” yet? I loved this story. Jewel helps a girl named Shine as she travels deep beneath Rolandsgaard castle in search of her mother. Jewel and Shine have many adventures as they search for Shine’s mother and the great treasure of the Rolanddotter family. My favorite part of this book is at the very end. Just when you think things are going all wrong Jewel and Shine get help from the most unexpected place. The illustrations in this book were really good.
Next up for me is “Nike’s Great Race”. I can’t wait!
